Are you Standing for Jesus?Whew! Two and a half months is much too long to go without posting! I began working full time on April 3rd, which partially explains my absence. I really miss my "play day" (Friday) when I could update my website, clean my house, run my errands, be a bum and stay in my jammies all day...you get the idea. Anyway, I've noticed that since I started working full time my relationship with Jesus has been given a place of lesser priority in my life, too. And that is definitely not a good thing! See, there in nothing more important in this life than serving Him. And I am beginning to understand that more and more.
Let me leave you with a thought. Christian music can speak volumes to me sometimes, and right now there are two songs that are speaking loudly and clearly. One is called "Come, now is the time to worship". One of the lines in the song says, "one day every tongue will confess you are God. One day every knee will bow. Still the greatest treasure remains for those who gladly choose you now." One day everyone will fall to his or her knees and confess that Jesus is Lord. But we are already doing that. And there is joy in serving the Lord today! The other song in called "Live out Loud" by Steven Curtis Chapman. The gist of the song deals with a hypothetical situation. Regis calling and asking him to be on the show "Who wants to be a millionaire". He wins and then buries all his money in a coffee can and acts like nothing ever happened. Well, what he is trying to say is that we Christians do that with the greatest gift available to man. ETERNAL LIFE! It is worth far more than $1,000,000, isn't it? Eternal life is priceless, but so often we are afraid to tell people we are Christians. We might feel like they will look down on us for standing up for our faith. But I have noticed since September 11 that muslims are not afraid to stand up for their Allah. Even atheists are not afraid to stand up and say they want God totally separated from the government. If they can have that much passion for false gods, what is stopping us? Well, I am Standing proudly for Jesus until the day I fall on my knees and confess (again) that Jesus is Lord. What a glorious day that will be. Be blessed!!
