Spring has Sprung!

I love when I am driving home from work on a sunny day in early spring and realize that the sun is much higher in the sky than it was a month ago. Spring is my favorite time of the year. Everything is fresh and new. The birds singing is the first thing I hear in the morning. We even had a thunderstorm during the night last week. If you are anything at all like me, all winter long you are standing on the promise of spring. I am not a cold weather person and often wish I could fly south with the robins. Don't get me wrong; winter can be beautiful, too. Gently falling snow on Christmas Eve is my favorite fantasy (although it rarely happens that way), but I get tired of the cold come January 2nd. That is when I start counting down the days until March 21st.

I love spring because everything is so fresh and new. The green that colors the trees and grass is a different shade in April than it is in August when the hot summer sun has scorched and drained the water from the soil. Even the flowers smell better in April. Baby birds will begin to show up any day now, too.

Do you know that you can have fresh, new life everyday if you abide in Jesus? It is true. I know that first hand. When all seems hopeless today, tomorrow is a new day. Lamentations 3:22-23 says

[It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.

What an awesome promise! It doesn't matter what happens today. It doesn't matter if you mess up on your diet, or if you vowed to quit smoking but then half way through the day just couldn't restrain yourself anymore. Tomorrow is a new day, and God's mercies will be fresh and new, too. So don't give up. No matter what you want to accomplish, don't give up until you have. And always remember that tomorrow is another day to serve the one, true Lord of your life. Give Him your all, too. He loves you so much!

Have a very blessed day!!
